Situated close to the village of Pefkos, the Pefkos Heights hamlet enjoys a tranquil location with dramatic views of the sea and the south eastern coast. Predominently family orientated, the village of Pefkos, (meaning Pine Tree) sits at the foot of a mountain by the sea. Bars and cafes are plentiful and are ideally situated for a spot of 'people watching' over a Greek coffee or a glass of ouzo. The feeling in Pefkos is laid back and gentle. No clubs are allowed in the village which means the nightlife, whilst varied, does not become too loud or disruptive.
Pefkos' sandy beach is a super experience, if you can tear yourself away from your private pool that is! With a selection of tavernas and cantinas and a water sports, the mood here is relaxing and peaceful. Sun beds are spaced well apart to ensure visitors feel welcome and want to stay!
Pefkos Heights is a superb location from which to explore the south of the island. Swathes of undeveloped coastline and pretty inland villages easily accessible from the main road give the visitor an idea of how Rhodes was before tourism arrived. Historical attractions include the remains of Asklipio castle with the most stunning views, and of course the remains at Monolithos, on the south western coast - again - the climb to the top is well worth the effort for the views!
