A 10 minute walks brings you to the beach at Lothiarika which is surprisingly underdeveloped. Water sports can be found at one end and quieter, more private stretches of sand to the left.
Pefkos Gardens is ideally situated to enjoy the south and central areas of the island with mountainous inland areas with pretty traditional villages clinging to the hillside such as Sianna where local honey and suma can be bought and stretches of coastline undeveloped and isolated. Popular sightseeing locations include Monolithos Castle and Prassonisi on the southernmost tip of the island - famous for its two seas meeting at a thin stretch of sand which in the summer can be crossed to reach the southern most island with its lighthouse.
Lardos is a 5 minute drive away where banks, post office, chemist, bars and restaurants can be found. Lardos is a traditional Greek village which remains open and thriving during the winter months.
